We are seeking a Treasurer to help Connect: North Korea continue our growth from a small community start-up into a high-impact, well-renowned, and sustainable international organisation by overseeing our financial management. Volunteering

Volunteer – Academic Mentor (Science)

We are seeking a volunteer mentor based in London to meet with one of our Enabling Freedom scholarship recipients for one to two hours on a weekly or fortnightly basis to talk through the following:

  • Academic writing skills, how to put together an essay and relevant English vocabulary
  • Helping to structure their progress through online learning modules
  • Key topics related to sports science, such as maths, biology and chemistry
  • What to expect at university, the different options available
  • What to expect after university

Successful applicants will have an informal meeting with a member of the Connect: North Korea team. These meetings will be on a rolling basis so apply ASAP!

Volunteer – Academic Mentor (English)

We are seeking a volunteer based in Ireland, the UK, Western Europe or South Korea to meet online with one of our Enabling Freedom Network scholarship recipients online for one hour on a weekly basis to teach and guide on the following:

  • English conversation practice and building confidence in speaking fluently
  • Academic writing skills, how to put together an essay and relevant English vocabulary
  • Exam preparations, ideally for IELTS although general exam preparation skills are also useful
  • What to expect at university, the different options available
  • What to expect after university
