Volunteer – Research / Literature Review: Cultural Sensitivity Training for Schools

We are researching how to deliver cultural sensitivity training to teachers in part of our efforts to support schoolchildren who either escaped from North Korea or have North Korean heritage in our community. There is a wealth of information out there, and we’d love to have easy-to-understand summaries and a synthesis of the research. Possible areas of research are:

  • Efforts to promote cultural sensitivity regarding North Koreans in the UK (ideal, but not likely to be much/any literature)
  • Efforts in South Korean schools to promote cultural sensitivity toward North Korean students
  • Efforts in the UK to promote cultural sensitivity toward students from minority or marginalised backgrounds
  • Evaluations of teacher training strategies and efforts in other relevant contexts

For further details and to apply, please email Kelsey at , stating your relevant skills and interests as well as your availability. Sending us a copy of your CV or a link to your LinkedIn profile is optional but encouraged. If you join the project, you are encouraged to work remotely and set your own hours, but please let us know your general availability.

This is a non-client facing role. As a volunteer, CNK are unable to provide you access to CNK systems, equipment, or financial compensation. However, we are happy to provide references for future opportunities based on suitable voluntary work outcomes. This is also an excellent opportunity for you to hone your skills in research, analysis, writing, communication, and potentially translation for an impactful project.
